P.E.S Tour

Have you visited Pt England School? Do you want to? Well today I am going to take you on a virtual tour! It might not be a REAL tour but I still can tell you, all the astonishing and hard working things that this school does.

Pt England School does this very unique thing called PENN (Pt England News Network). In this we tell the school what people have been up to and we also show them a few of how the classes work. Every day a class is timetabled to be on news, they have to work really hard to create a movie for this, and we watch it EVERYDAY!

Mrs Tele'a who edits this show everyday, has a small group of year year 7 students who produce this show. She also has a small camera crew who film this event. Then there is a larger group of people of year 5 and 6 students who are the news presenters. Here is a little video of how the news is created.

In Pt England school the classes all have blogs! Do you have one? All of our year 5/6 and 7 students have their own blog! They use their blog to tell the world what they have been up to. I am 1 of the students who love to blog (Writing is one of my favourite subjects).

I think I have told you enough of Pt England! If you really want to know more, why don't you come and visit our school. Our School loves visitors, we treat them with respect and honour.

Ankylosaurus Hyperstudio Stack

Ankylosaurus

Ankylosaurus meant Fused Lizard. Ankylosaurus was a plant-eating dinosaur. It had to eat a hug amount of low lying plant material. It had 4 short legs. Ankylosaurus was a huge armoured dinosaur, measuring about 7.5 - 10.7 m long, 1.8 m wide and 1.2 m tall. It weighed roughly 3-4 tons. This dinosaur had a short neck and a wide skull with a tiny brain. This large dinosaur lived in the Cretaceous Period about 75-65 million years ago.

Nutrition

Ankylosaurus eats low-lying plants. The teeth are 2cm long and its small teeth are perfect for nipping leaves that are low-lying. Ankylosaurus had large throat bones and that show us that Ankylosaurus had a big tongue which probably pushed it`s food around inside it`s mouth before swallowing.

Adaptation

Ankylosaurus had plates of bony armour that were joined together over their bodies. Ankylosaurus had a long wide body. 2 row of spikes grew along its back and it had horns at the back of it`s head. It had a tail like a club, which they used to attack predators. The club was made from several plates of armour that locked together. Ankylosaurus was a Saurischian which means it was a lizard hipped dinosaur.

Habitat

Ankylosaurus lived in the Cretaceous period that is 65-75 million years ago. Ankylosaurus lived in North America because fossils were found in the state of Montana, USA. They were also found in Alberta, Canada. This dinosaur was the last armoured dinosaur.

How did dinosaurs become extinct?

Ankylosaurus and all the other dinosaurs ( except birds ) perished in the Cretaceous Tertiary extinction , 65 million years ago. Some paleontologists believe that a huge meteorite had crashed into the coast of Mexico and some paleontologists believe that Hydrogen had spread around and for dinosaurs hydrogen was not good for them. So these were the 2 theory`s to how dinosaurs became extinct.

Intelligence

Ankylosaurus was an ankylosaur. Scientists believe it wasn`t very intelligent because their brain was small compared to its body weight. This means its intelligence was compared to some other dinosaurs.

Paleontologists

Thankfully paleontologists are still learning about dinosaurs because they are still discovering more fossils.

Wannanosaurus Information

Wananosaurus

Anatomy
Wananosaurus (named after the chinese province where its very incomplete skeleton was found) was a tiny homalocephalid dinosaur about 2 feet (60 cm) long. It was a very priitive pachycephalosaur (related to pachycephalosaurus and stegocerus, other dinosaurs with thick skulls that probably engaged in head butting activities). The homalocephalids had thick but flat topped skulls. It was a herbivore that walked on two strong legs, had short arms, a stiff talk, and a thick set body.

Behavior
Wannanosaurus may have been a herding dinosaur that lived in small groups in coastal and upland regions.Running was probably the first line of self defence. There Thick skulls may have been used for ramming rivers during mating and dominance combat for attracting matles and as a last self defence against predators.

Classification
Wannanosaurus was an Ornithschian dinosaur, the order of bird hipped, herbivorous dinosaur. It was a member of the group Morginocephalia and was the largest and the last member of the group pachycephalosauria and the family Homaocephalidae. Wannanosaurus may be the most primitive pachycephalosaur.

When Wannanosaurus Lived

Wannanosaurus lived during the late cretaceous period, about 83 to 73 million years ago.

Diet

Wannanosaurus was an herbivore, eating soft plants fruits, seeds. It`s teeth were small and sharp.

Locomotion

Wannanosaurus walked on 2 legs and was not a very fast dinosaur. It may have gone on all fours to forage for low-lying plants.

Discovery of fossils

Wannanosaurus was named by the Chinese paleontologist Hou in 1977. Fossils have been found in China.
