It was a bright sunny day, though the trees above them made it look dark, haunted and scary. The three 17 year old girls, Danielle, Jade and Lianna kept walking, paying no attention behind them. The previous day, Danielle had received a letter that said to go out and look for another letter which was for the 3 best friends. It read ‘Here’s a map, go and get the other letter. You wouldn’t want the whole town to find out all your dirty secrets, would you?’
“Dani, Jade please come on lets go back” Lianna whispered. “This is so scary and I’m getting freaked out”. Dani and Jade payed no attention, whatsoever. They NEEDED to find this letter! The 2 girls couldn’t go back NOW, they were already half way through. Lianna on the other hand was against this whole idea from the start, she’d been one of those suspicious ones ever since a few girls from high school played a scary prank on her.
The 3 of them sat down for a break. They needed water and also needed to get a torch out, it had been starting to get darker and darker. As the girls sat on a rock in silence, Jade hears a ruffling sound. “Guys, shhh! Listen.” but by that time the ruffling had stopped. It’s nothing, probably you’re just hearing things, Danielle had said though Jade couldn’t stop thinking about it.
Not long after, they started to walk again. They only needed to walk a bit before Danielle had spotted the x. All the girls ran to it and saw there was a letter placed under a small stone. “Why don’t we read it after we get home, cause it’s becoming dark and we really should start heading home” Dani explained. Jade and Lianna agreed.
As they were walking back, Dani hears footsteps and they didn’t seem like Jade and Lianna’s. “I think someone is following us, you think?”
“Yes, I told you! Come on lets run!” Jade says trying to whisper but was a epic fail.
They started to run, getting faster and faster as they ran. The girls out of breath stop to see what was behind them though there was nothing. “I swear, there was something or someone behind us” Dani shrieked, still trying to catch her breath.
“Guys look there’s that arch that was there when we came. It’s the way out. Come on” Lianna, managing to say that all too quickly, though the girls knew what she was saying, by her hand gestures.
As soon as Dani, Jade and Lianna got out of that forest. They get to Dani’s house and race up to Dani’s bedroom. Quickly, Jade got Dani’s backpack that they had placed the letter in and took it out in a swift motion. Jade read “Got yah! Danielle, Jade and Lianna, don’t fear, your secrets are safe with me, maybe?”

Show Not Tell (Raining)
I stepped in the cold winter weather and headed my way towards school, stepping into puddles of a liquid substance. The water poured heavily from the dull blue clouds. By now my clothes and my hair had been drenched. I ran hurriedly to the bus stop, fortuitously making it on time as I saw the bus pull in.

Camp Take Charge!
I couldn’t believe it, there had been so many other items and in any time it could have been the respectables turn. I stopped and turned my head to look around. People were cheering for the team that was on the stage. A nerve-wracking moment had come, a big round of applause filled the halls atmosphere. “Now its time for the RESPECTABLEZ!” Mrs Langitupu shouted with enthusiasm, “Is this a dream ?” according to Selena this was a dream, she muttered underneath her breath.
Our year 7 and 8's camp concert was on and it was the 2nd night of camp. You know where we camped? Well we camped on the school grounds. My group had a lot of fun because we did everything carefully and we took charge of our things, you think this might be stink, but we actually had a lot of fun.
When it was our time to dance, everybody started to cheer. The music started to play and the first group of girls started to dance, we performed to the song called “Chain Hang Low” the voices of the throng started to raise. I started feeling scared, anxiety had grown in me. We did our performance and there was a BIG round of applause. I guess a lot of people liked ours.
As soon as everybody was finished, we sat down and the last few performance’s finished. We were turning impatient to know who was going to be the winners of Camp Take Charge. “The Winners of 2011 Camp Take Charge are the.... DRUMROLLS PLEASE” Mrs Langitupu shouted and drumrolls hit the floor!! “The Respectables”. We shouted with happiness inside us, my ears were throbbing.
At the end we all got a handful of lollies, we saved some for the next day. Everybody got sent to their tents since it was night. As I went to my tent I waited silently for my tentmates, they came in thinking that they would get to scare me unfortunately I shouted “Yaay” they were the ones who had the big fright.
I had a terrific time at camp and it was awesome. I just couldn’t believe it, 3 days had passed by so quickly and it was as if it had just been 12 hours! From the senior school camp I learnt to be respectful to my team and all the people who came to Camp.

2010 Reflection
This year (2010) has been very complicated but, in a very entertaining way. Do you want to know how? Well, this is because I had so much fun even though some things were very tricky. I am going to tell you, how things were very complicated for me!
Firstly, I would like to tell you about writing, this is because whenever Miss Garden used to talk about writing, I would need a lot of time to think about what I need to write to make a good text. This is because I wanted my writing to be amazing. Overall I think that I had a lot of fun and a lot of laughter during this subject.
Secondly, I think that one of the subjects, I needed a lot of motivation in was maths. This is because I think that I needed quite a bit of time to think about different strategies. You see, all the other kids in my group would find strategies 5x faster then me. Maths was a really cool subject, because sometimes I even thought that I could have been a very good ‘Mathlete’.
One of the other things I think that were pretty elaborate for me was presenting. This was fun AND tricky because, at times I would have fun thinking that I was going to present to a very honoured person. When the time came to present, it was quite nerve-racking because Mrs Burt had told the presenters to do their best and then we just made a mistake. For presenting I would give it a 10 out of 10.
So these were a bit of the things, that I thought were quite complicating and fun at the same time. I hope I have a awesome year next year and it is better then this one. Then I would have double the fun and double the laughter AND not so much of a challenging time.
